Jolly Gingerbread
So I worked with two...no three, of my favourite items to create this card. I started with the idea of working with Beautiful World. (and after making this card) I was keen to mix it up and try to do something seasonal.
It's an absolutely stunning Autumn in central Alberta! and I have been loving the kaleidoscope of colour! Very inspired to be working on many Fall cards the past couple weeks.
I pulled out the Plaid Tidings as a base for colour inspiration in the Fall range. It hasn't failed me, yet. I've been busy using it to make a lot of cards lately. I went with the Pretty Peacock cardstock for the base and Crushed Curry for a mat. And then on this Live I put together the pieces and had a stroke of inspiration to see what leaves would look like...and voila! it was wonderful!
so I used the Stitched Leaves dies from the Love of Leaves bundle to round out the card.
I think it changes the whole feeling of the card... and adds another layer of versatility to the great Beautiful World set! ( a bit like this card did back in July!)
I love the stamp set Beautiful World. Paired with the dies for a great globe image, it's wonderful!
I honestly don't know why I chose this set to work with last night, but I'm so glad I did!
I have been doing Live at Nine! on Facebook for a few weeks now, and often scrambling to pull together the pieces to arrange a card on screen with people when 9:00pm comes around! I took a quick scroll through Pinterest and found a great layout for this set from Susan Lavasseur. So I quickly cut up some pieces to have done up ahead of filming...(and emboss and die what I'd need) eyeballing the dimensions for an idea! A really fun plus as I was hurrying along: I decided I'd like to add in the scalloped mat (from the Stitched So Sweetly dies) and figured I'd need to retrim my focal panel paper...but I'd cut it perfectly to fit!! (wow!) and Yay! I also used the smaller size from that die set for the sentiment.
I brought the pieces over to my workspace and the camera area...and enjoyed putting this card together, working with the 'sketch' and idea to put my spin on this pretty card!
October is a favourite month for the colours of Fall, Thanksgiving, Halloween and this year a DSP (patterned paper) sale with Stampin'Up!
15% off Select paper packs...and there are some beautiful options! Even some 6x6 packs made the list...like the fabulous Whale Time! or my most recent favourite the Plaid Tidings!
Just in time for Christmas, several options, including the Poinsettia paper, Snowflake Splendour and Heartwarming Hugs to name a few.
You can order direct yourself, or I can add your choices to one of my orders. let me know which ones you want to get started with!
